Restaurant Menu Assistant

Problem description

Restaurant guests often struggle to place an order, particularly when a menu is written in an unfamiliar language or uses a different currency. Dense layouts, allergens, and dish names spread across several pages create additional friction.

Solution

We created an AI-powered application that scans a menu and produces a personalized, easier-to-use version. OCR and language models interpret complex layouts, while the product adds translation, currency conversion, allergen guidance, and an order picker. We delivered the branding, UI, frontend, backend, OCR and LLM microservices, CI/CD, and ongoing maintenance.

The result

Guests can read menus in their preferred language, compare familiar prices, identify potential allergens, and collect dishes without remembering names from different pages. A selected-dishes screen helps communicate the order to staff and calculates the total and tip.
